Van
Service
Our Centre has a wheelchair accessible van that can be used
to transport residents locally to medical appointments, home
visits or other special activities.
If residents require any assistance en route or after they arrive
at their destination, a family member or friend must go with
them.
To arrange for the use of the van, please contact your nurse;
and please note that:
1. It is important to book early to ensure that both the van
and a volunteer driver are available; and,
2. Because volunteer drivers provide this service, not all bookings
can be accommodated.
Volunteers
Volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life
for residents. The Department of Volunteer Services supports
over 200 volunteers who make up the membership of the Volunteer
Association at St. Josephs Health Centre.
Volunteer visiting, neighbourhood support, providing meal companionship,
and assisting with recreational programs are just some of the
many ways that volunteers choose to contribute.
Families and friends who are interested in volunteering may
contact Volunteer Services at extension 4426 for more information.
We have many volunteer opportunities at St. Josephs including
drivers, activities, neighbourhood and cumpano volunteers. |
