Financial Services
Once
you have decided to become a resident at St. Joseph's, it
is very important that you or your designate (Power of Attorney
for Property) make an appointment with the Business Office.
It is recommended that this meeting occur within two (2) weeks
of moving in.
When you come to the meeting, we require the following documents,
so please bring them with you:
1. The Power of Attorney for Property document.
2. A void cheque. Payment for accommodation is done through
pre-authorized payment.
3. Notice of Assessment for the most recent taxation year
(if applicable).
4. Health Card.
Certain services can be provided at St. Joseph's and paid
for you from your trust account. A current list of these services
will be provided to you at the meeting, at which point you
can select those that you would like.
You or your Power of Attorney will remain responsible for
all bills for normal living expenses.
For your protection, we recommend that you keep a minimum
amount of money with you at all times. Opening a trust account
is highly recommended and should be done at your initial meeting
with the Business Office staff.
Please note that the Business Office is open most weekdays
so that you may access your trust funds. Office hours are
posted in the neighbourhoods and at the Business Office window.
At your request, small valuables can also be placed in trust.
St. Joseph's cannot assume responsibility for any items that
have not been entrusted to the Business Office.
The
Business Office will issue monthly invoices and trust account
statements.
Should you have any questions or issues you wish to discuss,
please call ext: 4386 to set up an appointment.
Physiotherapy
All new residents are assessed by the Occupational Therapist
and Physiotherapist to determine their current level of independence.
The appropriate mobility and therapy programs are recommended
to address each resident's individual needs. Out staff of
trained Rehab Assistants will provide both individual and
group therapy programs on each neighbourhood.
