Accommodation
St. Josephs Health Centre offers both single and double
occupancy rooms.
Rooms are furnished with a bed, a bedside table, a chest of
drawers that has room for a small or regular sized (21
or smaller) television and an opening suitable for a VCR/DVD,
an over the bed light and one chair for visitors. You also have
your own individual closet and a small quilted wall hanging.
Please speak to the Director of Nursing for your neighbourhood
if you would like to bring any of your own furniture. Due to
limited space, any additional furniture will be limited to ensure
your safety and the safety of our staff.
Each bed and every washroom has a call bell for you to contact
nursing staff if you need help. Nursing staff will be happy
to show you how the call bell works.
We encourage you to personalize your own living space with things
like personal photos, wall decorations and a favourite bedspread
or comforter. A locked glass memory box is located
outside of each bedroom. This is a space which you can use to
display any items or memorabilia that have special significance
to you. The memory boxes are a wonderful way to help others
get to know you and they are great conversation pieces.
The added bonus is that your unique memory box may help you
locate your room more easily while you are learning your way
around your new home.
Under some circumstances, e.g. illness or change in a residents
condition, a resident may have to be transferred to another
room. Your family will be notified if this has to occur. |
